The passing of a loved one is perhaps the most emotionally challenging experience. Having lost someone forever is daunting and triggers immense grief. Mourning does not happen in a straight graph. It comes in stages and can last for different periods for every individual. 

There is really no one way to feel the loss or ponder upon and deal with it. Similarly, healing happens on how one can cope with the situation, how the emotions hit, and simply how it affects one’s mental state. Here are some tips that can help you come to terms and deal with the loss-

Get a hold of yourself first

Easier said than done, but it is important to first come to terms with what has happened. Especially in cases where you are the one who has to carry out the funeral activities, you have to get a strong grip on yourself.

Small activities like wearing their favorite perfume, playing their favorite song, or visiting their favorite places can help you accept the loss and feel the way their presence did impact your life. Memories with them are your gift for life; no one can take them away from you.
